I have these aches that are sometimes just dull but sometimes very sharp. The pain is constant and mostly on my left side. I have had it for around five years and the doctors have not figured it out yet. I also have unusual weight gain, as much as 30 pounds in less than two weeks. I have symptoms of being pre diabetic and poor blood circulation in one part of my heart that led to sleep apnea. I look up conditions but nothing concrete.

This has been going on for 6 months now when it happens it is her hands, feet and now her lips. She acts fine and is very active, i’ve been to the doctors multiple times and still i have no answers they have done an echo and blood work and the only thing they found out was that she has a small hole in her heart i guess it is the one that is most common and usually clears on its own…and they are telling me that it isn’t that i don’t know what to do i’ve been to one of the best hospitals in the area and no one can tell me what is wrong with her, they even did a sleep apnea test which turned out ok. It doesn’t happen all the time just randomly and mostly when she wakes up from a nap. can anyone help me figure this out i’m out of options and these doctors are treating me like i’m crazy.

ok 1st thing 1st my son from the time he popped outta me (feb.2 08) he screamed and screamed wouldnt eat we took him home all he did was scream he’d NEVER get up to eat! after 2 weeks at home all the screaming stopped…just when we thought he calmed down….when he was 2 months the screaming started up again so we took him to the dr.s she suggested xrays and catscans well when the xrays came back he had mulpitle fractures all in various stages of healing and a few already healed…well anyways right on the spot they arrested my hubby threw him in jail of feb this year our son is 2 now and after 2 whole years ive found out he has a weak heart asthma sleep apnea high liver muscle enzymes and other problems.
**the documents from the hospital said "these injurys for a 2month old is rather unusual and further medical treatment and investagation is neccesary"

so was my hubby falsely accused????

I have a serious medical issue that has not been resolved and it is slowing getting worse. It started about 2.5 years ago not too long after a car accident where i would be sleeping and wake up with a severely dry throat. I would and still do wake up 2 to 10 times a night and i have water next to my bed to take care od the dryness. Now it feels like theres something in the back of my throat yet ive never coughed something up ever. Last couple months i have had a slight cough and i have to clear my throat sometimes. 1st doctor i saw had an xray done of my throat as well as sleep apnea test. The sleep apnea test i only got 1 hour of sleep so naturally they didnt find anything wrong. But either way i dont snore which is common among people with sleep apnea. 2nd doctor was nose and throat specialist who thinks i have acid reflux yet i dont have a history of heart burn. im taking pills for it but it just gives me gas with no reief of my symptoms.

I had a heart cath done and they wouldnt give me anything because of my sleep apnea, and that is just a mild sedation,My question is I need neck surgery a major surgery, whats that going to do with my sleep apnea?I have severe sleep apnea and i am also a diabetic.Doesnt look to good uh?

I was online and my dad did not sign out of his email account..I know it was wrong but I looked at his email and found emails he has written to a woman!! He wrote things like he and my mom have not had sex in ten years and he will not divorce her because there is to much money involved and my brother has a learning disability (he is 32 yrs old) it would break his heart….he wrote things in his emails about his love for this woman how much he loves her ect.. I felt sick to my stomach after reading them and wish i haven’t..I know my parents have had problems they sleep in separate bedrooms..my mom is always nagging him about money..I always though they slept in separate bedrooms because of his sleep apnea machine (my mom complains about the noise) but according to his email its that way because they just don’t sleep togther anymore–I don’t know how I am gonna look at my father after reading all this..

Sometimes I kid around and say I’m all kinds of broken, but that was how I felt when he became my friend. I was in a verbally abusive relationship, although he never hit me, it probably would have hurt less if he had. Overweight, bi-polar disorder, PCoS, and more problems on top of that. I was ready for suicide, just to get life over with since I was that unhappy.

My new friend helped me understand that although I had some problems, they weren’t worth giving up on everything, including letting my family down. He became my best friend for the next three years, then he moved from Canada to the US to be with me. We ended getting married 3 weeks later.

When I meet him he was an online friend. I didn’t know everything about him as far as physical attributes, but I really didn’t care. Before he flew down he told me he was a heavy set guy, and I was ok with that. He reminds me of a huge teddy bear now.

My problem is this. When he moved here he was overweight, I don’t know how many pounds he was, but he was wearing a 2x shirt… Since then we’ve been married for 1 year and 8 months (today actually, how funny.) and he has gained another 2 shirt sizes. My husband now weighs in at about 360 at 5′8". I had sleep problems so I did a sleep study, I thought "well heck, he has sleep problems too, we’ll both go". They diagnosed him with Sleep Apnea, he stops breathing about 200 times an hour. I was terrified for his life, if he stops breathing that many times an hour, what is my promise that he will start breathing again? Well now to say the least he has a breathing machine that helps him at night. He hates it, but he wears it for me.

We went and saw our General Practitioner. He said that with Sleep Apnea, if it’s untreated the heart enlarges, and if it goes untreated he could have died within a matter of 3-5 years, if it he was lucky.

My husband’s problems with weight started when he started gaming online. Mom is a superb cook and made something like 6 course meals on a daily basis, as a stay at home mom. I think this is around when he hit 22ish. (He’s 30 now) We still game online… for a couple of months after seeing the doctor we walked 2 miles every day, when it started raining heavily in the area for a few weeks we stopped. Then I tried getting gym memberships for us, we went for 3 weeks… then he would refuse to go.

I’ve done everything. I’ve cried, I’ve voiced my opinion, commented about how his shirts occasionally show his tummy poking out, tried putting him on an expensive diet, showed him that I’m willing to support and work out too, and taken him to the gym or just randomly walking. For the life of me I can not get him to take more interest in his weight. I’m heartbroken that he isn’t taking this matter more seriously. My parents and brother are concerned, what’s the likeliness that he will survive the next ten years at this rate, what will happen to me when he’s gone. He’s literally the light of my life; he’s what keeps me stable.

How do you push someone to understand what they are doing to themselves? I’m overweight by about 30-50lbs, but since we’ve gotten married I’ve a few pounds, and kept it off.

It’s hard doing things together, shopping for clothes, being intimate. He wonders why I pull back, and I’ve tried telling him why, but he doesn’t understand, or doesn’t want to. My last thought is to send him back home to his family, leave him and maybe he’ll understand how much I need him to be healthy. But then I don’t even know if he’ll take action.

I know my husband is lazy, I am too to an extent, but he takes extremely good care of me. He has a hard time finding a job because he’s an immigrant to the US, so now he’s attending college to get additional training in his career. He’s not doing nothing all day. He’s studying, going to school, doing labs, and yes some gaming too. There’s no harm in that I think… It’s how we spend time together and keep within a budget.

Note: I don’t have insurance; I lost my full time job that had benefits. Since then I had to take the first job I could get, which is only part time. Before when we had the insurance he didn’t find the idea of weight loss pills acceptable, he thought they could cause permanent damage. Now that we don’t have insurance he’s thinking that MAYBE he’ll eventually take them. I don’t know if he’s saying it because he knows I can’t afford to get them for him, or if he was serious. My sister in law’s extended family has a doctor in it, he’s from Mexico. He offered to bring medication to my husband to help stimulate his metabolism. My husband said NO without a second thought. He said medications from Mexico weren’t safe. My brother argues that the same medical companies make drugs all across the world, but he just said no, and left it at that.

Sorry. I know this is long, but thank you for taking the time to read it, and possibly help me.
As a response to my first comment. My hubby sometimes says that I approach him at the wrong times, IE: He’s had a bad day. Other times he says he knows he needs to try, but just doesn’t. He’s even mentioned that if he cooks diet foods that I don’t always like them, and that’s disappointing for him. I’ve offered to cook my own meals, so that way he won’t feel as though he’s being unappreciated, but then he comments that he feels useless since his daily tasks are less than mine.

I am a 30 year old woman – who is 40lbs overweight (according to dr charts) and has moderate asthma – Often when sleeping I wake-up sweating, can feel my heart through my back, get headaches, have to use my inhaler (though it doesn’t always seem to work at night), get restless legs – and feel sluggish sometimes and have headaches for a couple of days that seem untreatable then they disappear, only to reappear later that month. The Dr. ran all kinds of tests, thyroid and such, but to no avail – she never mentioned sleep apnea, but I saw a tv special about it and both my parents have sleep apnea… The thing is that my dr never recommended that I get the sleep study, so do I go and ask for one (maybe she’ll think I’m crazy), or do I just go and get it done – I have a PPO so referrals are not necessary. TIA

For anyone familiar with effexor, you know the side effects of withdrawl. The dizziness, or brain shivers, is the most noticeable. I have also noticed in the past month or so that when I forget to take it that when I’ve just fallen asleep I wake up gasping for breath and my heart pounding. It happens about four times before it finally goes away for the night. I thought at first it was sleep apnea, however it only happens when I’ve forgotten to take the effexor. I asked my psychiatrist about it and he said it sounded like panic attacks. He never heard of panic attacks as a symptom of effexor withdrawl. I never have had panic attacks before so I am just wondering if anyone else has had panic attacks as a withdrawl symptom from effexor.
On a side note, even though effexor has done wonders for my mental health, why would a drug company continue to manufacture a medication with such bad effects from withdrawl?
Like I already wrote, it happens only wh en I haven’t taken my effexor so I don’t think it’s sleep apnea. My MD also said you don’t usually wake up if you have sleep apnea.

I wake up and my heart is beating soooo fast, i start sweating and i feel like i’m going to faint. I feel that if the situation got any worse i would literally die, is this sleep apnea or a panic attack? I only awake from sleep with these symptoms, i never have them when i’m awake through out the day.

Ok before I explain any of this, I have to tell all of you
I HAVE AN EXTREME PROBLEM WITH ANXIETY. Panic Attacks come often. I am 14 years old
Ok, at night, whenever I am REALLY tired, I am afraid to sleep because im afraid of my heart stopping, and I often gasp for breath and I get that burning feeling in my chest when I get freaked out, but then I recover quickly.(This happens a LOT more when I am on medication that makes me sleepy like Benedryl which is what I am on now) I ALWAYS wake up in the middle of the night(even before the anxiety attacks came)
My brother tells me that I talk in my sleep. And I screamed "Shut up" to him once lol. And I move a lot in my sleep, not thrashing around, but when i was little and I would sleep with my brother, my grandmother would often move me to my bed because I moved on top of my brother.
Do I have sleep apnea?
Because it seems like I have Sleep Apnea, but it ALSO seems like Anxiety.
Cuz it doesn’t feel like my airways are clogged, it feels as tho my hearts going to stop and I often check my pulse VERY often. But when I do get scared and anxious my throat feels tight(which is a VERY Common symptom of anxiety) I DONT snore.
And when I wake up I do get a minor throb in my head(Which is kinda common I hope lol) Not so much a headache, but like a tiny painful pulse in my head.
But im like afraid to sleep at night. I am NOT overweight. And when I calm down and get my mind off of it, it stops and I am able to get to sleep. Which usually happens at around 4-6 am lol.
What do you guys think? Do I have Sleep Apnea? Or a major case of anxiety lol.
I TOTALLY FORGOT A GIGANTIC PART OF THIS

I have PTS (Post Tramautic Stress) Because a while ago I had an event in which I almost died, and have been having anxiety since. I don’t remember really having problems with this BEFORE this event. (However when I was a little kid I always did have a small thing with looking up sicknesses online, oh you little hypochondriac you) and freaked myself out over it. However I always have woken up in the middle of the night, but I always sleep with the T.V. on and such so that may be it. But I haven’t started Masturbating till recently ,so I had a LOT of wet dreams, and typically when I have one, I wake up. I remember waking up wet almost every night. lol

I think I have sleep apnea, I tought it was my heart but they’ve gave me a full work up and my heart is fine. I’m so sleepy during the day I can’t fuction, is there anything I can do to stay awake during the day, I sleep some through the night but not sure if its a deep sleep. I need help staying awake during the day on my job.

Ok, I’m going to have a wisdom tooth cut out of my head, and I have sleep apnea.
Which means, every minute or so, my throat closes, and after a minute or so, my brain says "hey idiot, you’re suffocating" and I gasp and get a breath of air.
All this happens without me waking up. I have a CPAP machine, but I can’t use that while someone’s operating in my mouth.

So if I’m put under anesthesia, won’t that mean that my brain will be too out of it to wake me up? If this happens, my heart will stop, because I won’t be breathing. Do they put a tube down my windpipe to keep it open?
I’m serious, how does this work?
Is this possibly the explanation for people who die during routine surgeries for no apparent reason?
I’m very afraid here, and I keep hearing "oh, I’m sure it will be fine" from people, but nobody can tell me WHY it should be fine.
… No, I can’t have CPAP on during oral surgery, because for CPAP to work, you can’t have your mouth open.
It’s the pressure from the closed system that keeps your throat open. Having my mouth open, would be like deflating a balloon, which is how CPAP works.

I think I might have sleep apnea..A little while ago i jolted out of bed gasping for air. I had no idea what was going on and why i had just flung myself into the wall. My heart was pounding, my hands were shaking and it was really scary. It’s happened before, but this time was really bad. Like im too scared to go back to sleep. Does anyone have sleep apnea? What happens when you go to the doctor for it?

for 15 years i have suffered from depression and now i am suffering from generalized anxiety disorder and go threw my day 2 day life with fear, worry, aggitation and nervousness!, i worry about my health alot especially my heart but i have been checked out and there is nothing wrong with my heart but i worry all the time about death and when i heard about sleep apnea, i began to think that i have it cause of the symptoms like feeling tired during the day and can’t concentrate properly as i can’t sleep at night thinking and worrying about death, and i worry about that if i sleep i might not wake up but i have read what sleep apnea does during my sleep, like gasping for breath during the night or snoring loudly but i never have problems like gasping for breath, i sleep pretty well but only wake up if i have bad dreams and sometimes have hallucinations, this has been happening for over 6 months now and i feel tired all the time and i keep thinking that i have sleep apnea disorder but i don’t wake up during the night gasping for breath and my friends tell me that i talk in my sleep but never said i snore loudly, so what could this be, is it my worry with anxiety?, could someone have the answer to this please!

My partner and I are disagreeing about the wording for our abstract. Would someone rewrite it using both or just give your opinion on which one i should use?

Over 20 million Americans suffer some degree of sleep apnea; those who do suffer from Sleep Apnea, are prone to suffer from excessive sleepiness, waking frequently throughout the night, morning headaches, and severe side effects on the heart and circulation. This project was designed to inform those suffering, or those who know someone suffering from Sleep Apnea.
Data was extracted from many reliable sources, along with a live interview. It was determined that sleep apnea is not widely known and often goes undiagnosed. The general population has probably already been exposed to Sleep Apnea without knowing it. There are few cases that have negative repercussions that may be life threatening, and require a doctor’s assistance.
The doctor revealed that there are many different treatments available for sleep apnea that can help to reduce, if not eliminate, the side effects. It is recommended that you should begin a healthy diet to help reduce Sleep Apnia, some healthy measure you can take are: Avoid alcohol and sedatives, some medications are designed to keep the patient breathing overnight. People with sleep apnea can also use a CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) mask or a BIPAP (Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure) mask to relieve the symptoms. In severe cases, surgery may be required to relieve the symptoms.
More people need to know about sleep apnea because it could be depriving them of sleep and contributing to high blood pressure and other circulatory problems. This could inspire people to go consult their doctor about their sleeping patterns and get treatment if it’s needed.

Over 20 million Americans suffer some degree of sleep apnea; all of these people are in danger for side effects such as excessive sleepiness, waking frequently throughout the night, morning headaches, and severe side effects on the heart and circulation. This project was created to inform people about this condition so they can help themselves or family members that may be suffering.

Data was extracted from many reliable sites, pamphlets, books, and from a live interview with sleep expert. It was determined that sleep apnea is not widely known and often goes undiagnosed. The general population needs to be informed about this condition because there can be life-threatening repercussions that require being treated by a doctor.

The doctor revealed that there are many different treatments available for sleep apnea that can help to reduce, if not eliminate, the side effects. It is recommended that people with sleep apnea should lose a reasonable amount of weight in healthy ways, avoid alcohol and sedatives, can use medication to stimulate the brain to keep the patient breathing throughout the entire night. People with sleep apnea can also use a CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) mask or a BIPAP (Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure) mask to relieve the symptoms. I have Sleep Apnea and a nurse told me it is affecting my heart.

My father has sleep apnea and I’m really worried what will happen if he doesn’t get it checked. My mom already bugged him to get it checked but he again keeps denying to go to the doctors.

He doesn’t has serious symptoms, he doesn’t sweat alot, have heart burn, high cholesterol or has trouble breathing, nor has gain weight. I try to always keep him on a bicycle but riding with him but I’m still worried in th future.

Should I still strongly suggest him to see the doctors? He the age of 55.
