I’m thinking about seeing a doctor about it. After some time reading about the symptoms and their long-term affects, I feel like I’ve been missing out on what real sleep should feel like.
So, for those who have it or know something about it, I have a couple of questions:
1. With the following symptoms, would you say I’m pretty likely to have it?
- Overweight
- Sleep with my mouth open and wake up with dry mouth most mornings
- breathe through my mouth almost exclusively when I sleep
- irritable/anxious/depressed, especially in the afternoons/evenings
- never feel like I got enough sleep regardless of how long I slept
- Wife says I snore, sometimes quite loud
- Wake up intermittently without any reason, and then I have to go to the bathroom
My wife says she has never noticed me stop breathing or gasp for air, but she is a sound sleeper and always falls asleep before I do. She can get to sleep in like 10-15 minutes, while it takes me at least 30 minutes, sometimes an hour or two, and that’s after the melatonin has kicked in.
2. How long does it take to get used to a CPAP machine? Does it work?
I have final exams in a few days, but everytime I sit down to study after about 30 minutes I feel sleepy. And whenI decide to sleep ,I sleep for over two hours!!!
Any ideas to keep me awake?
Over the past 3 weeks i haven’t been able to get a full nights rest,i always fall asleep and wake up about 10-30 minutes later then it takes me about 3 more hours to fall asleep again i have almost all the symptoms for it (Not obesity) Ive lost my interest in women my grandpa told me i snor when i sleep,im fucking horrible in school (worse than i was before) im sleepy all day, wake up early in the morning, and when i tell my dad i think i have it he just laughs and says "youll be fine" and when i wake up and go out in the living room he tells me to shutup and go to sleep. Im very scared because i read that this can kill you over time someone please help me someone even the slightest bit of info ill take.
I know I read about this somewhere, but I need to know the name or where I can find out about it.
Apparently, a normal human takes about 30 minutes to begin dreaming, and according to the sleep disorder, the person will begin dreaming immediatly, within minutes.
Can anyone recall the name?
The past 2 years I haven't been sleeping well. I got a promotion at my job and have been really stressed out. I don't know if stress is what is triggering it but it could be. The other night my hubby was in bed next to me. He said I stopped breathing twice in about 30 minutes. It went on for about 10 seconds. When we first got together I didn't snore and slept through the entire night. I want some real life opinions before I go to the doctor.
