Sometimes when i am sleeping i stop breathing what is up with that?
i have been doing this for years but it seem like it is getting worse whenever i am sleeping sometimes i stop breathing and i wake up gasping for air i have had surgery a few times so that is how i found out about sleep apnea but i though that people who had sleep apnea needed machines so if i had it i would know but maybe i am just ignorant of what sleep apnea is can anyway tell me what is wrong with me?
when i say i had surgery i did not mean for sleep apnea i just mean surgery period before people usually cut you up they ask if you have it

u are not ignorant see a doctor asap tell him/her about your fears and observations (like what time you usually wake up gasping for air, position u normally sleep in, etc. whatever comes to mind) also mention the surgeries a pattern might start to show and get a 2nd opinion that’s crucial some doctors dont specialize in that area. I’ve heard that everyone stops breathing at some point while they are sleeping then the body resumes but your problem sounds like much more serious. I kno insurance can be an issue but Health is important
get a respirator for night

consult your doc…you dont necessarily need a machine, but your doc can point you in the right direction
If you really think you have sleep apnea, you should ask your doctor for a sleep study. That will determine if you have it and what should be done about it.
