Sleep deprivation. Can you get back “lost sleep”?
I suffer from really bad sleep deprivation. Have all the symptoms….can’t focus, irriatable, ect. I am having surgery in a couple of weeks for a deviated septum. My nose is always plugged up, I am definately a mouth breather because if I wasn’t I wouldn’t be able to breathe at all. I have sleep apnea(had a study done and it is comfirmed). Never been able to use the CPAP because of the nose mask(I know they have mouth ones). My question is can we replace lost sleep? We I be able to bounce back from such severe sleep deprivation? Anyone? Only asking because someone told me we can’t replace "lost sleep".
Also have bad cases of "sinusitis" so even if I could breathe through my nose I’m always stuffed up. Constantly.

By catching up your lose sleep, it is better to your body. At least your catching up of sleep allow your brain brain to recharge. Your brain will take a “sleep” and do all the necessary repairing, rejuvenating, re-energizing and restoring.
However by doing so, you cannot totally replace the lost sleep. The sleep deprivation has been ‘accumulate’ and it is your future sleep pattern that solve the sleep deprivation.
As you are going to have the surgery on deviated septum, you should able top get back to batter sleep after it.
For myself, I am doing some research and studies on Sleep Apnea,Insomnia,Snoring,OSA,Sleepless Topics, if you would like to get further information, please feel free to visit my blog at http://sleepapnea-insomnia.blogspot.com
I do hope you will get back your normal sweet sleep after the surgery.
just go to sleep if you dont want to watch something bored like grass growing or something your body needs sleep .
Sorta. I have sleep apnea too and I’m doing much better with my CPAP. Once you’ve had the surgery you will make up some of the sleep deprivation and you will start to feel better. There are many problems created by sleep deprivation and "catching up" will help, but you can’t sleep for a whole week and make up the difference like a bank account.
you will get to make up for lost sleep when your dead!
i fairly sure you can regain lost sleep just take it easy and do something boaring before bed (for me if i cant fall asleap i watch TVO for a couple mins then quickly turn evry thing off) hope this works!!
