Sleep Apnea?
What are symptoms of sleep apnea? I'm 14 and am overweight. I always feel tired even though I get 8 hours of sleep everyday.

sleep apnae is where your breathing slows whilst your asleep and your saturation (how much oxygen) is in your lungs goes down. it should be 100% at your age. if you think this is a problem then see your GP as this can be very serious. he may say to try to lose some weight, but he can hook you up to a machine whilst your asleep to check. my son had this and it was his adenoids that were the problem. yours are probably shrinking by now so its probably another cause. possibly your weight. See you doctor.
Ask for a sleep apnea test. I found I have it and have a CPAP machine with a mask that I use at night and it helps immensely. Do not have the tired feeling and no snoring as that is also a sign of sleep anpea…you may not know you are snoring as I didn't.
I was also told to lose weight and that would help.
Thats possible you have sleep apnea, i'm overweight and have it. I have a sleep machine and let me tell you that you'll feel so much better if thats the case and you get a machine.
Snoring is a side effect, headaches, fatigue. Etc.
Also you need to get enough sleep so you can lose weight if you want to. If your sleep is out of whack then so is your metabolism!
Please consult your doctor. You are way too young to being having sleep apnea episodes.
Sleep apnea is when you actually stop breathing a number of times during the night. This can occur a few times a night, or over a hundred times, and is very harmful because it can lead to other things such as heart disease.
The best thing at 14 would be to lose weight.
