Your doctor should be able to refer you to a sleep clinic. There they’ll keep you over night and hook you up to all these monitors. Then, if you have sleep apnea they’ll perscribe a machine to you that has a mask you put on at night which constantly pushes air into your nose. It sounds uncomfortable, but my dad has been using one for about 5 years. No more snoring, no more black bags under his eyes due to sleep apnea. He now gets quality sleep. He cannot express the change it’s made in his life. He’s so well rested, no more falling asleep at his desk or the risk of dozing at the wheel! The trick isn’t staying awake during the day….the trick, for your health’s sake is getting enough GOOD sleep. Definitely look into this.
*Also, it may not be a cure, but if you are overweight, losing weight can also help your quality of sleep. Extra weight may effect how much oxygen you get at night. I know all about this, I’m overweight and a severe asthmatic, there’s no doubt in my mind I should take this advice myself, I’m sure I have sleep apnea that is worsening with age.
You might need a CPAP machine to help you breathe at night. Google it.
u will probablly need a c-pap machine. I have sleep apnea, and I use one. They’re not that bad. Just a mask youput over ur nose that blows air (gently) into your breathing passages. Beats the heck out of being tired all day. I say you should ask your PCP to send you to a sleep clinic. They put a few monitors on you and see how you sleep. They’ll tell you if you have sleep apnea. Once you get the CPAP machine, you’ll sleep sooo much better.
