You say you were diagnosed with hypothyroid….I am proof that you need to take your meds. Don’t end up like me honey. I was diagnosed very young, took my meds through my early twenties. I got pregnant with my third child stop taking meds because insurance and doctors changed. Now it has been 6 months after my third child was born and my TCH levels were at 207….thats right two hundred and seven. I have gained 49 pounds since I left the hospital 6 months ago. It is going to take so long for my hormones to become normal again.
You need to take care of yourself…you are only 16 years old, you are aging very fast. Every sypmtom you listed above was what I had started going through because my levels had gotten so high. Take care of yourself go see a doctor.
Definitely sounds like PCOS. The only crap you’re going to get from me is that you’re not taking your meds!! VERY very bad!! This is why you’re spotting because your hormones are out of whack.
Get yourself to a reproductive endocrinologist. There are a lot of ways to manage this conditions.
http://www.pcosupport.org is a fantastic website and will give you lots of great info. They also have some message boards for specific questions,
I have PCOS and i went to two docs (gyno and Endocrinologists) The gyno will tell you that its serious and put you on birth control to help with the periods and pain. The problem is that i didnt even know i had it and six months into the bc, i start having pain and pressure like you were describing.
So i went to an endo and he said that out of ten girls that were on the street, 4 have cysts, its supposed to happen and go away on its own, it happens from your ovaries releasing eggs and its normally harmless unless they are causing hormonal problems. He did some tests and i havent gotten those back yet, but i would go and see the endo before the gyno simply from experience.
P.S. Its nothing to go to the gyno and get a pap smear. Really i was 12 when i first went and they understand what your going thru and wont judge you for your conditions. Thats why they singed up to that profession. Also, there will be a girl to observe what happens in the room so you wont be alone. It’ll be okay and if it makes you feel better….mine is a guy. Be strong and good luck! =D
