my doctor says that sleep apnea messes up your metabolism?
I will be getting surgery to correct a deviated septum soon and I have noticed that despite exercising and eating right as i always do normally, I have gained a bit of weight. My doctor says sleep apnea messes us your metabolism. Is there anything I can do? Can I still loose the weight I gained before my surgery? :(

having a deviated septum will not cause you to gain weight…this is ridiculous! it has nothing to do with your metabolism. sleep apnea can also be caused by having low calcium levels..has your doctor checked that out yet? it can also be caused bt depression and stress, and other things. but in no way does a deviated septum have anything to do with gaining weight.
sometimes a doctor will say things completly off the wall…i would confront him if i were you. did the surgeon/ specialist say this or did your primary care doctor say this? sometimes doctors say things just to get the patient to shut up, or to reassure you of things.
