My 24 hour clock has shifted out of the normal 8-5 day. I tend to sleep 10 hours a day, is this a disorder?
I’ve tried to get shifted back gradually a bit everyday but I tend to want to sleep the first half of the day and then function normally until around 3 or 4 in the a.m. I don’t know if I should see a sleep disorder physician or not.

You sound exactly like me. It is now 4:07 a.m. my local time, and I will probably be up another hour or so. I just cannot get to sleep any earlier. It stinks because I want to sleep past noon. I have always been a night owl and not a morning person, but this is getting to be ridiculous. I am also thinking of seeing a specialist. I don’t do well on 8 hours of sleep. I also need about 10. Good luck!
Some people need more sleep than others actually. I sleep 12 hours ALOT. I feel weird about it too. I tried taking sleeping pills to make myself fall asleep earlier then eventually it caught on and became a habit. You can even force yourself to wake up but I never do. I would see a doctor for some sleeping pills but I wouldnt call it a disorder.
Nah……….this is really funny because I just actually went through it. You just have to break the habit that somehow your clock got you into.
I’m now in bed and asleep by two am and getting up around seven, so I’m getting back on track.
I think what I did was actually not gone to bed at five am and stayed up all day, and kept busy, this lasted about two days, then I just drifted back into what was my usually asleep by eleven clock.
I am barely making it past midnight now, but anyway, just re-habit your brain……………
