Long Term Problems from Sleep Apnea?
I had sleep apnea for 10 year before being diagnosed and starting treatment. I am now experiencing focus and concentration problems, and they are starting to effect my job. I have been using a C-PAP since diagnosis 10 years ago. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas what to do about it?
PS-My doctor put me on stratera, and I don’t have ADD or ADHD. Anyone else tried this?

Maybe you should be retested for the apnea. You may require an adjustment on your machine. I was retested a couple of years ago for the same reasons and found that I required a higher level of air pressure from the machine.
I don’t think it is related to the sleep apnea, specially since you have had your CPAP for 10 years. It is probably related to anxiety or depression.
There are a lot of things that could cause your lack of focus. I hope your doc tested your thyroid function, too. But I agree that it’s unlikely to be the CPAP, much more likely sleep apnea would do that. Have you had your machine calibrated and have you had a sleep study done recently? Your machine should be calibrated once a year and you should have a new sleep study every five years.
I have sleep apnea too, I just learned to deal with it. Concentration is a common cause of sleep apnea due to lack of deep sleep. Like you I suffer from concentration problems.
