Life insurance with some health problems?
I have a few health problems and I am looking for life insurance. I have sleep apnea (I use the machine), COPD (Chronic Bronchitis), and possibly Emphysema (tests being run). My doctor said that nothing is life threatening at this point.
Anyone know of any good life insurance companies that work with someone who has health issues? I have two small children and I really would like to rest assured they will be taken care of.

Underwriting guidelines change all the time for different life insurance companies. You need to work with a life insurance broker who has experience handling difficult cases and access to many companies to find you the best offers.
Your sleep apnea sounds under control. If you are being tested for emphysema, your COPD might not be. Offers will depend on your O2 saturation levels, pulmonary function test, and so on. Expect a knowledgeable insurance broker to ask good questions.
Depends on how much insurance you want. I used to sell for a company called Jackson National Life and wrote a policy for some who were worse than you. In fact, a few years af taking the policy, it paid off. You can call the company at 1-800-call-JNLI and ask them for an agent in your area. They are a good sound company.
As an Agent I would say this: There are lots of options. Some cost more than others. Your best bet is to find a LOCAL agent you feel comfortable with to advise you. You can find quality agents through the National Association of Health Underwriters website.
Good Luck
You should go ahead and apply and let the under writing department do their job. Do not keep waiting. Your health problems do not appear to be significant. I have sold life insurance to clients with far more serious health problems then you and they all were covered, some with a slightly higher premium but they were approved. Hope this helps.
