I was denied homeowners inurance because I have sleep apnea. I can’t believe this.?
Fist of all I would not have even know I had sleep apnea if I had not gone to the sleep study I never st oped breathing even on the sleep study test they just said durnig dream stage my breathing gets shallow. There are probably millions of people who have sleep apnea and don’t even have it know it and they have homeowners insurance, but because they did not go to a sleep study and get diagnosed with it they are allowed to have homeowners insurance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve never HEARD of this. Frankly, I don’t believe it.
Have the company put it in writing to you – that they won’t give you HOUSE insurance, because you have sleep apnea.
Health insurance, yes. Homeowners insurance, no.
I have severe sleep apnea and I had no problem getting homeowner’s insurance. Call a different agent.
That sounds a bit strange…I would look for another insurer
Sleep apnea has NOTHING to do with you being denied homeowners insurance. You must have misunderstood.
I sympathize with you. There are many insurers out there. The one you went to may have some weird underwriting rule regarding this though I have never heard of it. Also, if this is the case, contact your state department of insurance. They would have been the ones that approved this criteria. Otherwise, find a company that doesn’t believe your apnea is a disqualifying characteristic.
Good luck
This is not believable. There is no medical underwriting required for homeowner’s insurance.
I have never heard of a home owners insurance company even asking if you have sleep apnea. I know that in the US there are many house fires caused by people that have fallen asleep with a cigarette, but how this relates to sleep apnea is a puzzle to me. I guess some of the overweight cigarette smokers may be asked to fill out another questioner with the insurance company but I have yet to have been asked this and I have sleep apnea. Does this company also insure your health as well?
This is very puzzling to me, get another quote from another company.
