I want to open my own home sleep study business, where do I start?
I am a Registered Respiratory Therapist who would like to open up a home sleep study business. There is a great demand for sleep studies at my hospital, to the point that people have to wait months at a time before they can get in to be seen. If these test were performed at home that would cut out a lot of patient hassles.

I recommend you do a little research with the Business Opportunity Search Engine
Being community driven it’s a cross between a search engine and a Wikipedia. You can add, delete and improve the results for much more focused answers than a general search engine can provide.

That is a great idea. I know if I had sleep apnea, I'd rather get diagnosed in my own bed than go to some university hospital overnight.
A guy at my hospital did that, and they fired him. Now, he just sells the BIPAP, masks, etc that the patients need. Our hospital does the testing and he gives them what they need….that's where the money is anyway. Good luck!!
I had a home sleep study test done last night, the benefit to having it at home was, I was in my own bed, I was not taking up a hospital bed.
You have the advantage of being a respiratory therapist. I guess you would have to be registered business, have a provider number so people can claim back some of the cost via their health insurance.
The below links are two types of home sleep study kits available. I had use of the Embletta pd kit.
Good luck.
