I have sleep apnea and insomnia (not what you think)?
*THIS HAS NOT BEEN FULLY DIAGNOSED (I took a test online, it says i might have sleep apnea. I’m still gonna get it checked out by the doctor*
So, I think I might have sleep apnea. But, I also KNOW I have Insomnia. I know the two are related, but its not the usual. my problem isn’t that I wake up frequently during the night, my problems that I can’t frickin get to sleep till anywhere between 1-4 in the morning. This has been going on for the past year or so)
I definitely have experienced some of the symptoms of sleep apnea. Such as
# Waking up unrefreshed and having trouble staying awake during the day
# Waking up with headaches
# Waking up sweating
# Frequent trips to the bathroom during the night
I also seem to forget to breath sometimes when I’m awake.
But I don’t wake up frequently, and I definitely have Insomnia. Are the two related? Is it possible to have both?
HELP!

See a doctor, and get tested for apnea. And also get your thyroid tested at the same time. Or just get your thyroid tested first. It’s a lot chaper than a sleep test, and can be done in a day.
Those are all symptoms of a thyroid problem as well.
I would definitely NOT take the advise of any so-called ‘doctor’ who attempts to prescribe meds over the internet without a thorough examination. She’s an idiot who, if licenses, is about to lose hers.
Yup! Go see a doc. Sounds like stress related.
First, let me say that I admire you taking the initiative to research your symptoms. No one will be a better advocate for your well being than you yourself.
I am experienced in the field of sleep medicine. You do have some sleep apnea type symptoms. Waking with a headache is one of them. This can indicate that your blood oxygen levels are dipping during the night when you have apneic episodes.
You could very well feel unrefreshed because of the AMOUNT of sleep you are getting, not the QUALITY of the sleep.
Frequent trips to the bathroom are common in people who wake up for other reasons.
Are you saying you have night sweats? If you are a female this could be a sign of oncoming menopause. Even if you are in your 30′s.
Yes, you can have both insomnia and sleep apnea. But, more frequently, those who suffer from sleep apnea are so tired that they can fall asleep anywhere.
Hope this helps and I haven’t added to your confusion!
