Actually, the new guidlines are eradicating Stage 4 sleep and calling it stage 3. Now when Delta waves are present, its just Stage 3. Plus, I’ve always viewed 4 as a deeper form of 3, never on its own. Give it a few more weeks. Make sure to go to sleep at the same time every day if at all possible. Eat right. Excersize. Talk to a doctor if it doesn’t change, b/c that can be fixed with certain meds.
PS, there are also studdies on people that live in high noise areas. Like if a plane path is located above your home, that is linked to some of the same problems people with OSA have. The noise may not wake you up completely, but it would slightly change your stage of sleep, kicking you from a deeper to a shallow stage. Same thing that happens with OSA, minus the moderate drop in SPO2. You do get a mild drop though.
Potentially. Mental fatigue is often caused by lack of class IV sleep. You don’t heal well without the deepest stage of sleep. So if you are able to progress into the deeper stages of sleep with the cpap, you will get better. If something else is causing your mental fatigue, you may need to consider other avenues of treatment.
