Has anyone ever had a sleep study? What did you think of it?
I had one last weekend and I thought it sucked. I could barely sleep with the wires and the room was FREEZING. I told them 3 times that I was cold and they wouldn’t do anything about it. Then I had to stay all day and take naps.. I couldn’t sleep because I was frozen and the wires were irritating me. I have no clue if there’s even anything wrong with me. Did I just have a bad experience?

I am very sorry for your experience. The wires are something they really couldnt do anything about but they definately could have made you more comfortable. Your discomfort could have made the results less accurate for them as well. Hopefully nothing is wrong with you and hopefully if you ever have another they will make you more comfortable.
no…but i like to sleep while studying
It totally sucked!!!!! Gettin all the goop out of your hair was awful! How do they think you’re going to sleep with all of those wires? I was afraid I’d hang myself! I can’t imagine doing it during the day. Mine was a t night. I do have sleep apnea, but it’s very mild. I’m supposed to use a CPap, but I just don’t like it. Anyway, good luck to ya!
I’ve had 2 sleep studies and know lots of people who have had studies done. Yes, your experience was not the best. You needed to stay the next day for all those naps because they suspect narcolepsy. Unfortunately, under the circumstances of your environment, the results of your study can be greatly affected. I would speak to the sleep specialist who ordered the test and explain what happened. He/She may want to order another sleep study, making sure it is under optimal circumstances. They should try to make you as comfortable as possible, simulating your sleep environment at home. Unfortunately, there is not much you can do about the wires.
A doctor does not order a sleep study unless he suspects a problem that needs addressing. Finding out exactly what that problem is, is important to your overall health. If you do have narcolepsy, I would invite you to check out the Talk About Sleep web site (actually it caters to all different kinds of sleep disorders). There is also the Narcolepsy Network, an excellent resource. If you have Narcolepsy or what they call Idiopathic Hypersomnia, you are going to need a good support system. Sometimes that is hard to find amongst your family and friends as they simply do not understand. Please check out those websites. Every possible question you could have about sleep disorders has probably already been dealt with on the Talk About Sleep (TAS) web site.
Good luck.
