Does this sound like sleep apnea?
Lately evenmore so than usual, I feel really tired and rundown even after a good 7 hour sleep. I’ve also been really down in my concentration levels. I’ve been really busy and I just related it to stress but, after talking with my new roommate, she tells me that at night i sometimes let out a snore that lasts like three seconds and then it just stops (and it may repeat like 2 or three times a night) and she says sometimes i’ll start to take deep breaths. But I also breathe really shallowly throughout the day and I’ll randomly take deep breaths on occation then too.
I looked up sleep apnea online and i didnt have some of the symptoms such as the headaches, kicking around, and I dont fall asleep all over the place, I’m just really mentally and physically tired.
so what do you think?

Hello VedaSean,
your symptoms may be sleep apnea, but it may be something mild, and not moderate or severe.
Sleep apnea worsen in time, so…you should find out now what is your problem. And don’t worry if you have sleep apnea. There are a lot of treatments in this word. Your case is not severe, but don’t wait to have a severe disorder.
Yes I have it and everything you wrote I can relate to.
The short answer, Yes. But you need to discuss this with your doctor, who may request a Sleep Study. Sleep apnea can be deadly and should not be overlooked or brushed aside. Best of luck
I agree you should talk to your doctor about. However, you should keep in mind that it is normal for some people to not breathe for a few seconds while sleeping. So don’t get bummed out if you go through all the studies and they determine that you don’t have sleep apnea because you did not stop breathing long enough. But definetly talk to your doctor about it. Do you still have your tonsils? My daughter may have hers out because they are too large and she is experiencing obstructive sleep apnea. Just another thought.
Yeah, it’s possible. I think you should speak to your doctor about this and possibly go in for a sleep study. It may turn out to be nothing, but it’s not something you want to ignore just in case. Hope this helps. Good luck and take care. :)
First of all, 7 hours of sleep per night may not be enough for you. Most people need 8 or 9 hours of sleep.
Your symptoms are an indication of sleep apnea but you will not know for sure unless you have a sleep study.
If left untreated, sleep apnea can lead to health consequences such as high blood pressure, heart attack and stroke.
