My dad, he’s in his early 50s, and i would say that he probably isn’t the healthiest one in the world. He has these following symtoms:

sour stomach and sour taste on his tongue, which the doctor says it’s acid reflux. They gave him acid reflux med.

Headaches that sometimes makes him throw up, but nothing really comes out, he says he just feels better when he lets the air out. ???
The doctor says it’s migrains.

tired during the day a lot, takes naps. i think it might be sleep apnea but he doesn’t believe me.

And now the doctor says he’s depressed and says his migranes are psychological because he’s to worried about things and he doesn’t have much of a social life.

If you have any idea what this might be, please let me know or if you might know someone who has this symptoms. We have been to so many doctors and they just don’t take us seriously.
He also is pretty lightheaded from all the med. that the doctor prescribes him but the doc says it’s psycological again.

My Doctor and I believe that I may have sleep apnea, which I am scheduled for testing. My appointment isn’t until next month and then it takes three weeks to get the results back. In the meantime, I am totally exhausted and find no motivation to get anything done, which is very difficult because I have three children. What are some things I can do to raise my energy levels so that I can make it through the day and accomplish at least the basic needs of my family?

Ok I’ve got asthma and sometimes I wake up at 2-3AM and I can’t breathe and move at all. At first I thought this was my asthma but it was actually sleep apnea. Please help I’m only 15 and I feel like nearly every night I have a chance of "kicking the bucket". What can i do to stop it?

I wake up and my heart is beating soooo fast, i start sweating and i feel like i’m going to faint. I feel that if the situation got any worse i would literally die, is this sleep apnea or a panic attack? I only awake from sleep with these symptoms, i never have them when i’m awake through out the day.

My husband has sleep apnea…very badly. His snoring is out of this world LOUD. He’s seen a sleep doctor and has a breathing machine he must wear at night. I know this is uncomfortable for him to wear and a lot of times he doesn’t. So, I’m listening to him snore and getting mad at him for my loss of sleep! Now, I feel really bad for him that he has this condition and has to wear the mask at night. But when he doesn’t wear it he hacks and coughs for hours after he wakes up. It’s not completely selfish of me because I hate to see him suffering like that in the morning. I just am at my wits end. I feel like I’m being mean and nagging when I ask him to wear it and when he doesn’t I ask him to sleep in the other room. What should I do???

I quit breathing over 200 times in a 8 hour night ( they had all kind of sensers hooked on me). i don’t remember waking up, but it was easy to see on the readout this morning.( and video/ audio tape) Anyway, i have to go back and sleep there tonight with a C.P.A.P. machine ( i will have to sleep with it every night)
That explaines the cronic fatigue, and memory loss, over the past few years, also depression and irratabilaty. I’m really excited, finally some answers as to why i feel like %$^# all the time.
I lost a couple of good jobs, and a 16 year marraige because of this. well i’m glad the marriage is over, but i’m sure going to miss those jobs

My son is only 5 months old..he has been hospitalized twice. He has been diagnosed with sleep apnea, sagittal craniosynosis, tremurs, bronculitis, bonchio spasms and the most recent ringworm. He has had one surgery for his sagittal craniosynosis last month. I keep telling myself that it is fixable but I am afraid that one day something will be wrong with him and it wont be fixable. How can I keep my head up when so many things are always wrong with him? He is on breathing treatments every day until April…it is getting hard to keep happy! Do you have any advice for me?
He also has ezcema and we are working really hard to try and clear that up

eventful night of sleep.I slept like a baby.Is there any device or machine that can monitor my sleep behavior at home?My husband is scared that when I stop breathing that I may not start back.Does anyone have any suggestions?

What could the underlying condition be with these symptoms?

There are many nights when i fall asleep that i will wake up and my pulse will be very fast. Then I will fall asleep for about 15 minutes and the same thing. This goes on for about two hours and then I am finally able to stay asleep. Does anyone think this is sleep apnea or do you think it could be something else? If so what?

The Dr. just diagnois me with Bradycardia at 48 bpm 70% of the time and 58 bpm at my highest rate also, he had found two leaking valves. I’m also over weight which doesn’t help but, I’m limited because of my arthitis that I have. What would be my next step. The Dr. said that I was not on any med’s that would slow my heart rate down. I also have type 2 diabetes. I’m going to have a sleep apnea test done next week. Thank you for any help answering these questions. What should I expect to happen from all of this? Thanks again.

my husband has a breathing machine for sleep apnea and our dog keeps on chewing on his mask. does any one know why she could be doing this or has had this happened??? this has become a very expensive chew toy for her!!!! HELP!!!!!!
she only chews the head gear that goes around his head and not the part that goes over his nose and mouth
we keep the bedroom door closed when we are not at home and keep the mask in a trash can that we got for keeping it up off the floor
when she did it this time I was in bed next to where she was doing this (my husband had already left for work)

This Dr. is in charge of a sleep disorder center in Mn. but I don’t know where it is. Any information would be helpful

So i recently had a sleep examination at a sleep lab, and it turns out I have sleep apnea (not breathing often while sleeping because of obstruction in airway), but for some reason I just don’t believe I have this sleeping problem because I don’t notice it when I sleep. Anyway, I am only 16, I’m 6′ 2" but over 300 lbs. I’m ALWAYS tired and depressed. I sleep almost every day at school, and I sleep when I come home for usually 4 hours. I was told that because I don’t breathe often in my sleep, I am unconsciously waking up throughout the night, resulting in unrestful sleep.

I slept for a night at the lab, and they tried me on with a CPAP mask. The next morning, they told me I slept well. I still don’t have any more information about how severe the apnea is, or when I’ll be getting my mask.

All I can say is, I’m sick of being obese, I’m sick of being tired, and I’m sick of always being sad and depressed. Do these sound like symptoms of sleep apnea?

i have a neice that has sleep apnea and she doesn’t want to use the cpap machine. what can we do.

My husband has just been diganois with sleep apnea. Now is on permanent Rear D and non deployable. I dont want him to be deployed, but my question is, will his career suffer in any way. He wants to retire from the military, but now we dont know what is going to happen. Help, please!

Actually, I know the standard answers. Get a good routine going, go to bed at same hour and up at same hour every day, good diet, exercise, relaxation, blah blah blah. The trouble is I am now 73 and this has gone on for 11 years since my wife died. I live alone and have none of the good habits because I am always in the same rut and unable to change or, if I do change, it is for about two or three days and then I stay up to 3 AM and sleep to noon. Today, I am so mad. I stayed up ALL night and now it is sunny and 9:30 AM. I am not sleepy after being up for 22 hours, but know I need some sleep. I am afraid this is another lost day. I’ve been to the "sleep specialists" taken numerous sleep tests, got machine for sleep apnea, meds for sleeping and anxiety and depression. So why am I still up all night? Worst of all I don’t do anything productive in those night hours when I am awake. My best working times are, like most people, during the day.

My brother sleeps through half of the day and stays up all night im really worried is this normal?

they are going to study her sleep patterns.

i’ve just been diagnosed with sleep apnea and have used the c-pap machine for 2nights. i think it’s going to help, but i have a rash on the bridge of my nose and on my face where the mask sits. anyone else have this problem? any suggestions? i have washed the mask in mild soap and rinsed it well.
my mask fits over my nose only

I’ve woken up 3 times in my life because I have stopped breathing in my sleep (not recently) which was scary. The first time was when I was around 16, and the other two times were two years apart after that. I was just wondering if its normal for everyone to have this happen to them once or twice in their lives, since I’m not overweight or have any normal risk factors to have this happen. Thanks!

THe docs were thinking it was silent reflux last year but Im not so sure. Every time I see a doc they say my glands are swollen, then I say they alway are and they blow me off. It feels like my throat is closing sometimes, like there is a huge lump in it. Also it always feels like there is stuff from my sinuses stuck right before it hits my throat. If I get a stuffy nose, it always seems to settle in my throat and makes it really sore. It;s worse at night – to the point where I get sleep apnea like symptoms.

I dont know if this will work but docs arent figuring it out, so maybe you will.

Ive recently started having fatigue, high blood pressure, dizzy spells, waking up to throw up from a dead sleep, nausea spells during the day, lump in my throat near my thyroid(thryoid test came out ok), night sweats, waking up in the night with low grade fevers (94 degree), and I know I do suffer from sleep apnea sometimes. What could it be? Im 23 female thin.
